Chewing gum art

I thought I'd seen quite a few different supports, including one strange but beautiful one where a lady in New Zealand was painting on a spiders webs, but this one is something to chew on!

Thanks to Flickr for pointing it out. That guy lying on the pavement is actually painting bits of dicarded chewing gum. Lovely!

Pat Kramek art at Scotland Art.com

I love viewing this gallery online. They do have a couple of real art galleries in Edinburgh and Glasgow, but as far as I can tell, all the paintings are online. There are some great artists selling through this gallery, not least, another of my favourite Scottish artists - Pat Kramek. Pat Kramek art is fantastic. I've seen a few of them in a gallery in Pittenweem, and though small, they were completely 3-dimensional with texture. Anyway, ScotlandArt.com is well worth a look if you are searching for up and coming British art.

Haven't painted in ages

Despite my head being full of great stuff to paint, I have to admit that I haven't picked up a paintbrush in about a month. My baby boy, diy and a proper paying job (which doesn't count as artistic at all) seem to conspire to keep these images in my head and nowhere else.
I must make a pact with my self to paint more and watch crappy american dramas on telly a bit less.
Check back, I might even paint something I can sell this week.
Maybe

Online art supplies shop

For the past couple of years, whenever I've bought art supplies online, I've always gone to Millers Art Online. They're based in Glasgow with bricks'n'mortar art shops there, but give excellent service online too. They've got a huge selection of art supplies and I don't think I've ever waited more than a week for my stuff, usually get it in a couple of days. Good on you Millers Art, that's the way e-commerce should be.

Crieff art by Karin Wiseman

Had a lovely surprise at the weekend when my wife presented me with a painting of Crieff in winter by Karin Wiseman. I had seen it in Aiton Fine Arts on King St in Crieff some weeks ago, and admired it then. It looks much better now it's on my wall.
The thing is, I know nothing about the artist, what other work she does or where else she's exhibited. Ah well, maybe she'll be famous one day and I'll have an original to get valued on Antiques Roadshow. Sell it? no mate, wouldn't dream of it.
