Monday, June 21, 2004 Soft, cozy landscapes 
Last night I had the urge to paint something softer than the usual in-your-face bright paintings I usually sell. I must say, it was most soothing. The subject I picked was Suilven - a mountain way up in Sutherland in the north-west of Scotland. I couldn't completely let go of the usual landscape features though and made sure I included a cottage and a telegraph pole. Apart from that though, I picked muted colours, reasonably gentle contrasts and built it up in lots of layers. Who am I? I'm Adam Christie. I love looking at art, all types of art. I comment on it in my own way. I despair at art snobbery. There is no need for it. Occasionally I even pick up a brush myself, despite not having an art degree! That's a hanging offence in some art circles.
